Can you get to hell from a storm drain in southern Ohio? Legend claims that a haunted portal called Satan’s Hollow that leads straight to hell is located in Blue Ash, Ohio. Satan’s Hollow is a series of drainage tunnels, where a group of Satanists used to meet in an altar room, and conduct their rituals. Inside the tunnel/storm drain, there is graffiti on the wall including symbols of the sign of the Devil, 666 and the words “GO BACK” and “HELL LIES AHEAD.” While these tunnels certainly are creepy, they aren’t very big. Aside from the area when you enter the tunnel system, you pretty much have to stay bent over to get through, & they get smaller as you go on.

People have heard screams coming from inside the tunnel at night, have seen floating faces, skulls, and apparitions, and some have seen a strange glow flickering from within. There is also supposedly a demon called “The Shadow Man” that waits inside guarding the tunnels from trespassers. In the Altar Room, it is claimed that you can hear strange noises that sound like footsteps rapidly making their way through the shallow film of water that flows everywhere, and the energy in the vicinity changes.

The Rougarou is a werewolf or dog-like creature that exists along the swamps and bayous of Southeast Louisiana. Most reports of the Rougarou claim it is a half-man, half-dog or that it is a man with the head of a dog. It stands upright on two feet, is covered in hair, with long fangs and red glowing eyes. Unlike most werewolves, it can turn into this form at any time of the month, and doesn’t seem to be as violent, prefering to wreak havoc by destroying property or passing his curse onto others.

The curse of the Rougarou varies with some saying you become one by not observing Lent for seven years, by staring into his glowing eyes, or by being cursed by someone or a witch. Some say that if you become one, then you must keep the secret for 101 days in order for the curse to be broken, but if you do not, you will be bound to the curse forever. You can protect yourself from a Rougarou entering your home by placing thirteen pennies, rocks, or other objects on your doorstep, because it doesn’t know the number 13. It will become perplexed and will keep trying to count the objects.

Dark apparitions that reveal themselves while you’re sleeping are scary enough, but of all the Shadow People that visit you at night, the Hat Man may be the creepiest. Because he appears in so many different situations, and occasionally to several people in the same family, there isn’t really a clear explanation if he’s truly evil and why he appears to so many people. He has been seen all over the world, making the Hat Man a global phenomenon.

The Hat Man, unlike shadow people, is a completely solid dark figure who tends to observe you in the corner of your room while you sleep. He is six feet or taller, always wearing a wide-brimmed hat, and has glowing red eyes. He seems to hang around areas where there are negative emotions taking place, and some people believe that he emits a very powerful negative energy and feeds off the fear he causes.

The Berwyn Mountains UFO Incident, also known as the Welsh Roswell, was a mysterious event involving strange lights and noises that occurred the evening of January 23, 1974. At approximately 8:30 PM, people in the area were surprised to hear an enormous boom and feel the earth shake, and when looking outside saw a brilliant light in the sky traveling over the mountain peaks. There were soon reports of a large fire burning on the side of the mountain, and the Royal Air Force was scrambled on a rescue mission to the area, but in the end, they claimed to have found no evidence of plane wreckage or any evidence that anything had crashed.

The official explanation was that the residents in that area had experienced an earthquake at the same time that a meteor was burning up in the atmosphere. The odds of that seems infinitesimal, which is why many people believe that a UFO crashed landed in the mountainous and remote area and then was covered up by the British government, earning it the nickname of Roswell.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium, in Louisville, Kentucky, is considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the United States. It opened as a tuberculosis hospital on July 26, 1910 when the tuberculosis epidemic was beginning to gain steam in the country. Sadly, the main use for the hospital was to isolate those who had contracted the disease, and during the time that it ran as a hospital it was estimated that approximately 6000 people perished here, but there are some that believe that number could be as high as 64,000.

Paranormal investigators have heard strange sounds and eerie footsteps in empty rooms, have heard slamming doors and seen lights in the windows as if the power is on, and witnessed apparitions in the hallways and rooms. Tour guides have reported seeing doppelgängers of themselves and many have encountered a dark, terrifying entity called the Creeper who crawls on the floors, walls and ceilings instilling dread in those who see him.

Stories of giant stones being tossed at hikers, loud screams that pierce the air and even sightings of something unknown have filled Whitehall, NY locals’ lives for generations. In August of 1976 there were sightings of a creature that took place over a two day period which is now called the Abair Road Incident. This creature was described as being between 7 and 8 feet tall, having red glowing eyes, walking like a man, but looking more like a gorilla, and it was reported by multiple witnesses that it made a sound like a pig squealing or a woman screaming.

Over a two day period in August 1976, several civilians and multiple police officers witnessed a creature that can only be described as Bigfoot. But some sightings since then have seen a creature with a long and lanky torso and thin gangly arms, which leads many to believe that the Abair Road creature was another paranormal entity, or that there may be more than one type around in the area.

During the early evening of November 23, 1953, 1st Lieutenant Felix Moncla and 2nd Lieutenant Robert Wilson left the Kinross Air Force Base in a F-89C Scorpion fighter jet to investigate a strange radar return that had been picked up. In the control room at the base, radar operators watched the screen as the blip representing the jet got closer to the unidentified blip, and then became one with it. Radar operatives lost contact with the jet and eventually the blip disappeared from the screen. After several days of searching, no trace of the jet, the two men or the unknown object were ever found.

It wasn’t long before the Air Force began to backtrack and give different stories about the circumstances of that evening, but there is speculation from many that Felix Moncla and Robert Wilson had come in contact with a UFO. Because there is no plane debris or evidence of the encounter, it has been theorized that their plane was either engulfed by the UFO or they may have gone through an open portal or gateway following the strange craft to an unknown location.

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue might be the most famous address in America, but it is also perhaps the country’s most famous haunted house. Presidents, first ladies, staff members and guests have reported feeling ghostly presences, hearing unexplained noises and even running into apparitions throughout the years. The ghost of Abigail Adams has been seen carrying her laundry, President Andrew Jackson has been heard stomping and swearing through the halls, and an unknown soldier has been seen roaming the grounds holding a torch. But by far the most frequently reported sightings have been of President Abraham Lincoln.

Grace Coolidge, President Coolidge’s wife, was the first person to witness Lincoln’s ghost. He was looking out a window in the oval office and turned to look at her before disappearing. Winston Churchhill even told a story of seeing the apparition of Abraham Lincoln after he emerged from his bath with the same results. Psychics have speculated that Lincoln’s spirit remains in the White House to be on hand in times of crisis, as well as to complete the difficult work that his untimely death left unfinished. Others believe that the numerous séances that Mary Todd Lincoln had in the Red Room may have attracted spirits to the building.

The Solomon Islands is east of Papua New Guinea, and consists of nearly one thousand islands. One of the largest of the islands, Guadalcanal, contains eerie forests that have rarely been explored by scientists and many area tribes believe it to be the home to the giants. These giants are over ten feet tall, with evidence that they grow much taller, have very long black, brown or reddish hair, and have bulging red eyeballs. Although they are omnivorous, most reports find them to be very dangerous to humans.

Islanders believe that the giants travel in a vast cave system that spans the entire length of the island, and have a huge city beneath the mountain with advanced technology. There are also numerous reports of UFO activity on the island, as well as possible subterranean extraterrestrial bases, which leads many to believe there could be a connection to aliens.
