Ep. 67 – Villisca Axe Murder House

On June 10th, 1912, two adults and six children were found brutally bludgeoned to death by an ax in Villisca, Iowa. Because all of the victims were found in their bed, it is thought that the murderer waited in the attic for everyone to fall asleep before going room by room, killing them all. From the start, the crime scene was compromised when over 100 friends and neighbors came to gawk at the dead bodies, and the few suspects that they had, all had alibis to corroborate their whereabouts. This crime remains unsolved.

People feel a real heaviness while in the house, and have seen apparitions and shadows, heard disembodied footsteps, and experienced things moving and falling on their own. At 2 AM, a train passes through the town of Villisca and the sound of its whistle is thought to trigger the residual events of the murder. Many people have noticed a light fog fill up the bedrooms just after the whistle and once it dissipates the sound of dripping blood can be heard. Numerous psychics have determined that the house if being haunted by the spirits of the murder victims, while others have felt that there is an evil presence in this house.
